“This bill will allow beekeepers who produce small quantities of honey to more easily sell their goods.”
COLUMBIA, SC — Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina (AFP-SC) today applauded Senate passage of S.961, a bill that would remove burdensome regulations around making and selling honey at home.
AFP-SC State Director Candace Carroll released the following statement:
“During the pandemic, many South Carolinians took up new hobbies that turned into small businesses. This bill will allow beekeepers who produce small quantities of honey to more easily sell their goods. Now more than ever we need to remove barriers that slow down entrepreneurs, and we encourage the House to quickly take up and approve this legislation.”
Last year, AFP-SC supported S.506, a bill that expands the opportunity for home-based food production and direct-to-consumers sales.
