AFP-SC Praises Senate Committee for Passing Cottage Food Bill

Feb 25, 2021 by AFP

COLUMBIA, SC – Following S 506, a bill that expands the opportunity for home-based food production and direct-to-consumers sales, passing out of the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) Director of Grassroots Operations Candace Carroll released the following statement:

“Restricting South Carolinians’ ability to sell and buy homemade goods keeps too many potential job creators from pursuing their dreams. Now more than ever, we need to remove barriers on entrepreneurs and small businesses who have been devastated by the economic effects of COVID-19. We thank the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee for supporting this bill that expands opportunities for South Carolina’s entrepreneurs and benefits our local economies. Lawmakers should pass this bill and empower more South Carolinians to live their version of the American dream.”
