AFP-NM Launches Direct Mail Effort into Sandoval County Mailboxes with Plea to Pass Worker Freedom Ordinance

Oct 31, 2017 by AFP

Citizens are educated about the impact of right-to-work, Sandoval County Commissioners are encouraged to support ordinance at upcoming Commission meeting

Albuquerque, NM – Americans for Prosperity-New Mexico (AFP-NM) has launched a direct mail effort to encourage Commissioners Chapman and Eichwald to support and expand worker freedom policies known as Right-to-Work. Supporting worker freedom would secure the rights of workers and empower them to decide for themselves whether to join a union and pay union dues. Right-to-Work states are growing jobs, wages, and opportunities fast than states that do not guarantee these freedoms to their citizens.

Mailers were also dropped in the districts of Commissioners Block, Holden-Rhodes, and Heil. Commissioners Block and Heil are sponsoring the Right-to-Work ordinance, which is up for a procedural vote on Thursday, November 2nd.

AFP-NM’s state director, Burly Cain released the following statement:

“Right-to-Work states are outpacing the rest of the competition, and right now New Mexico is lagging behind. Sandoval County has the opportunity to boost the economy and be part of a transformative movement that has been an economic boon across the country.

“We commend Commissioners Block, Heil, and Holden-Rhodes for supporting Right-to-Work thus far. We hope they continue to support worker freedom policies, and that Commissioners Chapman and Eichwald take advantage of this great opportunity to empower workers in Sandoval County.”
