Arlington, Va. – Following the introduction of President Trump’s health care executive actions, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Senior Health Policy Fellow Dean Clancy issued the following statement:
“These latest executive actions reinforce two important truths about our health care system: Americans are desperate for lower costs, and Congress remains divided. It’s time to overcome these differences and enact real reforms that reduce costs, increase access, eliminate negative surprises, and strengthen safety nets. These reforms must be designed to help people, not insurance companies. Americans need a personal option in health care and I encourage this administration to build on their efforts to remove the restrictions that prevent Americans from accessing quality plans.”
AFP is committed to driving policy reforms that grant every American access to the high-quality health care they need, when they need it, at a price they can afford. The group recently laid out a 5-point policy plan, “A Personal Option,” focused on providing more options removing the barriers that make health care unaffordable for so many. In the wake of COVID-19, AFP launched a nationwide Health Care Reimagined campaign focused on making crucial reforms to our system that ensure people have access to the care they need.
