Governor Tim Walz wants Minnesotans to pay 20cents/gallon more in gas taxes, driving up the cost of nearly everything you buy. Problem is, only about 1/2 would actually go to net new spending on transportation projects. The first 10 cents just replaces money ALREADY going to transportation that the Governor would spend elsewhere. Rep. Torkelson joins us to talk about the Governor’s transportation funding shell game.

Then in the second half of the show, former state representative Matt Dean joins host Jason Flohrs to talk about health care spending in MN. The Governor wants to reinstate the 2% sick tax on doctor/provider visits, costing MN’s billions in unnecessary health costs. He just doesn’t get it – you can’t make health care more affordable by making it more expensive!
