AFP’s Akash Chougule on Biden’s Expected First Veto: “The Last Thing Families Need Right Now”

ARLINGTON, VA—Americans for Prosperity’s Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule made the following statement on President Joe Biden’s expected first veto:

“This week Americans sent a message to President Biden to keep his hands off their retirement savings. Unfortunately, President Biden is not listening and has once again doubled down on his extreme policies at the worst possible time for the American people. With so many across the country struggling due to Biden’s inflationary policies, the last thing families need right now is for this administration to put its thumb on the scale and risk their nest eggs in pursuit of its radical political agenda. It’s no wonder that Americans overwhelmingly feel that things are going in the wrong direction. President Biden’s decision to veto is going to impact households in a direct way and only contribute further to the economic damage his failed policies have caused.”

In February, AFP launched a targeted digital ad campaign urging voters near retirement to make their voices heard and send a resolution of disapproval to President Biden’s desk. AFP wrote to members of Congress and joined more than 100 officials and organizations in calling on Congress to stop Biden from politicizing Americans’ retirement savings.
