AFP-WV Key Vote Alert: Support closing the digital divide in West Virginia

Dear Lawmaker,

On behalf of Americans for Prosperity activists across West Virginia, I urge you to support HB 4001, relating to broadband. These votes may be recorded in our 2022 legislative scorecard.

HB 4001 represents an opportunity for West Virginia to continue building on the progress of the closing the digital divide in West Virginia. The legislation:

Creates a commission that will serve as a transparency and accountability body for the deployment of broadband money.
Creates a Dig Once Fund to help with costs of deploying broadband when dig once policies are triggered.
Assists in the deployment of middle mile broadband to unserved and unfunded areas on the broadband availability map.
Establishes a process of mapping the disturbances in rights of way, including the poles, to ensure accurate costs for engaging in a project.

It is for these reasons that I ask you to vote yes in support of HB 4001. These votes may be recorded in our 2022 legislative scorecard.
