AFP touts implementation of “Clean Slate” legislation, commends Gov. Wolf for leadership

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) on Wednesday will participate in a press conference with Gov. Wolf and other leaders to celebrate the implementation of the “Clean Slate” legislation passed last year that will provide for the automatic sealing of criminal records for misdemeanors and charges not leading to convictions. The grassroots group has long advocated for the bill and intends to prioritize advancing more smart reforms to the criminal justice system in 2019.

AFP-PA State Director Beth Anne Mumford issued the following statement:

“This bill gives Pennsylvanians a fresh start and a new foundation on which to rebuild their lives. We commend Gov. Wolf and the bill’s sponsors for lowering barriers to opportunity for citizens who have paid their dues and resolve to live a better life. Our activists are ready and willing to find other ways to work with anyone committed to improving public safety, giving people second chances, and helping improve Pennsylvanians’ lives.”
