Frankfort, Ky. – Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky (AFP-KY) commended Gov. Beshear for taking executive action to reduce Kentucky’s population of incarcerated individuals at risk of contracting COVID-19, who do not pose a threat to public safety. AFP-KY and a broad coalition of groups sent a letter to the governor calling for this action and additional recommendations..
AFP-KY’s Mike Conway issued the following statement:
“It’s our responsibility to ensure the health and safety of everyone – particularly the most vulnerable – during this crisis. This was a difficult decision and Gov. Beshear made the right call. We urge him to continue taking action to flatten the curve and improve public safety for all Kentuckians.”
Additionally, AFP-KY recently sent a letter to Gov. Beshear suggesting policies the administration should take to expand access to critical health care services for those in need.
