ARLINGTON, VA — Americans for Prosperity President and CEO Emily Seidel issued the following statement on the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination:
“A year ago today, Charlie Kirk was assassinated for standing in the open, making his case, and inviting anyone who disagreed with him to make theirs. On this difficult anniversary, our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
“Charlie spent his career walking onto college campuses to debate people who thought he was wrong, because he believed bad ideas are beaten by better arguments, not silence. That’s the legacy worth honoring today — and the reminder this anniversary carries: political violence has no place in America, and it will never replace free expression, civil disagreement, and mutual respect as the principles that hold this country together.
