RALEIGH, NC – Today, Governor Josh Stein signed into law North Carolina’s first comprehensive state budget since 2023, a budget crafted by the General Assembly that will further reduce individual income taxes, increase teacher and law enforcement pay, and offer additional funding to communities still recovering from the lingering impacts of Hurricane Helene.
Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina (AFP-NC) State Director Tyler Voigt released the following statement:
“Speaker Hall and Senator Berger delivered a budget that will offer real tax relief, help teachers and law enforcement, and aid Western NC communities still rebuilding from Hurricane Helene. We’re glad to see Governor Stein sign it into law today.
“This budget proves that low taxes and responsible spending can go hand-in-hand. North Carolinians deserve nothing less, and today’s signature means that relief is now on the way.
“This budget cements the legacy Senator Berger has built over his years leading the Senate, while clearly outlining the vision Speaker Hall has for the future of our state.”
