CHARLESTON, W.Va. – With the polls closed, Americans for Prosperity West Virginia (AFP-WV) would like to congratulate the principled policy champions who have succeeded in being elected to the state legislature. AFP-WV has, once again, demonstrated their signature grassroots approach is a key difference maker in the state’s most competitive races.
AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman released the following statement:
“West Virginians have, once again, soundly rejected politicians who backslid on conservative principles. Voters have made clear that they’re not willing to suffer unprincipled lawmakers who attack the school choice options that our families deserve, put corporate welfare over tax cuts for hardworking families, or put Hospital Monopolies over creating high-quality health care options for patients.
“This primary marks a historic sea-change in the policy trajectory of the Mountain State away from half-hearted tinkering and unmet mandates towards the bold, transformational reforms West Virginians deserve. Tonight, grassroots leaders sent a clear message to lawmakers: stand on principle or we will unite the people around new leaders who will. AFP-WV looks forward to uniting this new policy majority around proven policy solutions that will make West Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
