AFP-GA: 26 Years in Congress, Still No Lessons Learned: Georgia Democrats Fuel Shutdown Chaos

Atlanta, GA – Today, Americans for Prosperity–Georgia (AFP-GA) is calling out Georgia’s Democrat members of Congress for choosing partisan chaos over responsible governance and demanding they put taxpayers first by voting for a clean funding bill to reopen the government now.

Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock, and Rep. Johnson have enough combined experience to know that it is time to be a voice of reason in Congress. Americans are telling their elected officials that they want the government to reopen immediately, and Georgia Democrats should listen.

AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:

“With a combined 26 years in Congress and four shutdowns between them, Georgia Democrats —Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock, and Rep. Johnson—should be leading the charge to reopen government, not adding to the gridlock.

“Georgians deserve better than partisan obstruction and political excuses. The next time these lawmakers cast their votes, they should remember they answer to the people of Georgia—not their party leaders. It’s time for real representation and responsible governance. That starts with voting for a clean continuing resolution to get the country back on track.”
