AFP and Jersey 1st Launch Accountability Campaign Over High Taxes and Out-of-Control Spending
Trenton, NJ – This week, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and Jersey 1st launched a new, statewide accountability campaign highlighting New Jersey lawmakers’ voting records on key issues like excessive taxation and unsustainable government spending that continue to burden families, businesses, and workers across the Garden State.
The premier grassroots partnership will spend the summer engaging directly with New Jersey voters through grassroots canvassing efforts, digital ads, and a robust mail campaign connecting them to how exactly their elected officials represented them in Trenton this legislative session on the issues that matter most.
This campaign aims to achieve transparency, accountability, and reform by connecting residents to how their elected officials voted this session and managed their taxpayer dollars in Trenton. New Jersey consistently ranks among the highest-taxed states in the country—with property taxes, income taxes, and business costs placing enormous pressure on working families and job creators. Residents deserve to know which members of the legislature are fighting to improve their lives, and which members are preventing them from achieving prosperity.
The campaign is rooted in the group’s policy playbook, “Garden State Pathway to Prosperity,” launched earlier this year, providing guidance to lawmakers on how to do the right thing and support better policies that improve the lives of New Jerseyans.
The Garden State Pathway to Prosperity accountability campaign focuses on the following issues:
- Broad-based tax reform
- Unleashing energy abundance
- Supporting Education Freedom
- Reducing Burdensome Government Regulations
