COLUMBUS, OH — Americans for Prosperity–Ohio (AFP-OH) today submitted proponent testimony on two critical pieces of legislation aimed at protecting taxpayers and expanding patient freedom. Legislative Director Hannah Kubbins submitted testimony in support of House Bill 335 and Senate Bill 170, backing both measures as key reforms to empower taxpayers and patients across Ohio.
“Ohioans are tired of unvoted tax hikes driving up their property tax bills,” said Kubbins. “H.B. 335 gives voters more control, increases transparency, and brings long-overdue reform to a broken system.”
Kubbins praised the bill for eliminating unvoted inside millage and called for additional steps, including strict levy limits and Truth in Taxation requirements to ensure taxpayers are informed and empowered.
In separate testimony on S.B. 170, Kubbins endorsed expanding Ohio’s Right to Try law to include individualized medical treatments for patients with life-threatening conditions.
“This bill offers hope to patients who have run out of options,” said Kubbins. “It protects patient choice, removes red tape, and ensures ethical oversight without mandating participation from doctors or manufacturers.”
Both bills reflect AFP’s broader vision of limited government, transparency, and increased personal freedom.
