WASHINGTON, DC — Today, AFP Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner, joined The Hugh Hewitt Show and responded to the discussions over a potential plan to raise taxes on small business owners and job creators by Republicans on Capitol Hill.
Gardner said:
“It seems too unbelievable to be true but it seems as though Republicans are seriously considering raising taxes on some Americans and still preserving some Biden-era green new deal policies from the IRA, it’s almost beyond belief.”
“This would mark a significant step backwards. Ideologically different than the way we’ve talked about this bill.”
“What we should be doing at this point is paint and polish, not construction on new ideas. We know what we have to do to cut government size and spending, and we have to put forward a pro-growth tax bill.”
