Erie, Pennsylvania—Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania and the Erie Chapter of the Manufacturer & Business Association hosted Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16), Chairman of the Ways & Means Subcommittee on Tax, for a panel discussion about the urgency of renewing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA).
AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene introduced the panel, saying:
“In this political climate, it’s hard to believe that there’s a policy goal that enjoys 90% support from all Americans. We’re here today to discuss the one goal that has near-universal support: keeping our current tax rates where they are and preventing new tax hikes. If Congress doesn’t get to work today to protect our tax cuts, Pennsylvania faces the threat of losing nearly 34,000 jobs. For us in this room, we can’t afford such a threat!”
During the event, Congressman Kelly emphasized the urgency of extending the tax cuts and what it will mean to Pennsylvania’s job-creators if Congress fails to renew the Trump Tax Cuts. After the event, he issued the following statement:
“2025 is the Super Bowl of Tax. As Congress crafts pro-growth tax policy, it’s vital that we put our boots on the ground and hear from local business leaders. Thank you to Americans for Prosperity and the Manufacturer and Business Association for hosting such an important and insightful conversation.”
