AFP-Texas Declares School Choice Victory after Historic House Vote
AUSTIN, TX – Americans for Prosperity-Texas (AFP-TX) declared victory for the education freedom movement in Texas today following the state House of Representatives’ historic vote on SB2, creating the largest education savings account (ESA) program in the United States.
Today’s vote follows an unprecedented advocacy campaign by AFP-TX, the state’s premier partner between the grassroots and their lawmakers, to make ESAs a reality in the Lone Star State.
After Governor Greg Abbott’s school choice bill narrowly failed in 2023, AFP-TX rallied its grassroots army to defeat lawmakers standing in between Texas’ students and their full potential. Since the general election, AFP-TX has continued its tactical campaign to hold lawmakers accountable for their promises to support school choice through door-to-door outreach, a constant presence in the state capitol, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in targeted advertising across the state.
AFP-TX will always support policies that empower parents to give their children the best education possible and prepare the next generation to lead the great state of Texas to greater heights.
