Columbus, OH—Yesterday, on Tax Day, Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH) held events in Columbus, Toledo, and Youngstown with state representatives and activists talking about the importance of renewing the highly effective 2017 Trump tax cuts as part of its Protect Prosperity campaign.
If Trump’s 2017 tax cuts expire at the end of the year, the average Ohio family can expect to pay over $2,000 more in federal taxes—which is a nightmare for many hardworking Americans.
AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil released the following statement:
“Inflation has already hit families hard, and a bigger tax bill is the last thing we need. Extending the 2017 Trump tax cuts means more stability, more opportunity, and a stronger future for the Buckeye State.
“We’d like to thank State Reps. Fischer, Lorenz, Thomas, and Williams and Former State Reps. Merrin and Riedel for joining us yesterday to highlight the importance of preventing a massive tax hike for Ohio families and small businesses.
“It’s clear – Congress must act now to renew the tax cuts to fuel economic growth, job creation, and higher wages across Ohio.”
