Americans for Prosperity Launches Seven-Figure Ad Campaign and Grassroots Push to Extend Trump Tax Cuts, Targets Texas Reps.
AUSTIN, TX – Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is launching a seven-figure ad and grassroots campaign highlighting what will be a Tax Day nightmare next year for working families across Texas if Congress fails to renew the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). This critical legislation has provided essential tax relief to families and small businesses nationwide and is overwhelmingly supported by hardworking Americans.
If Congress fails to act before the tax cuts expire this year, the average hardworking Texas family would see their federal tax bill increase by $2,870. That’s why AFP-TX’s grassroots activists are knocking doors in Representatives Vincente Gonzalez (D, TX-34) and Henry Cuellar’s (TX-28) districts informing voters that their congressman say they want to raise their taxes by not voting to renew the Trump tax cuts.

“Texas’ low taxes and combined with our culture of entrepreneurship have helped us become one of the largest economies in the world. A massive tax hike on hardworking Texans will make it harder for us to start businesses, get an education, and raise a family.
“However, lawmakers like Vincente Gonzalez and Henry Cuellar are standing in the way of Texans keeping their hard-earned dollars. The 2017 Trump tax cuts were the most pro-growth tax reform efforts in American history, and AFP-TX will make sure no tax-and-spend progressives stand in the way of our prosperity.”
In addition to digital and radio ads, AFP-TX will be hosting events with lawmakers to underscore the urgency to act.
This campaign is a continuation of AFP’s $20 million commitment made in January – the largest investment of any outside limited-government conservative organization in support of a key pillar of President Trump’s agenda. In 2023 and 2024, AFP and AFP Action reached out to nearly 30 million voters.
