Statement from AFP President Tim Phillips

Americans for Prosperity President and AFP Action Senior Advisor Tim Phillips issued the following statement correcting an inaccurate Fox Business News video headline that states “Koch brothers to intervene in 2020 GOP primaries to unseat Trump.”

Tim Phillips said:

“We are not engaging in either the 2020 presidential primaries or general elections.

“We will continue to engage in congressional and state-level primaries when there are policy champions to support, just as we did in the 2018 midterms for now-Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN) and now-Governor Ron DeSantis (FL).

“Our involvement in elections is just one part of this Network’s focus on building and uniting broad-based coalitions that remove barriers in government, business, communities, and education to give every American the opportunity to succeed. The work we’ve done in criminal justice reform serves as a blueprint for how we plan to engage.”
