South Dakotans Seeing the Light of Tax Reform

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Yesterday, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission announced that customers of Black Hills Energy will receive refunds in October, thanks to savings from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. A total of $7.67 million will be refunded to South Dakotans that are customers of Black Hills Energy.

AFP-South Dakota State Director Don Haggar released the following statement:

“The landmark legislation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act continues to benefit South Dakotans. We’re pleased to see the South Dakota Congressional Delegation’s votes continue to put money back in the pockets of hardworking South Dakotans.”

Background:

Senators Thune, Round, and Representative Noem voted YES in December of 2017 on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

In July, major utility provider Xcel Energy announced refunds to South Dakota customers based on savings from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
