Columbia, SC—Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) is applauding the House for adopting S. 62 and sending an expanded Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) bill to Governor Henry McMaster.
As the Governor prepares to sign the legislation, AFP-SC highlighted how S. 62 will bring transformative change to South Carolina’s education landscape by now ensuring 85% of families can qualify for an ESTF to meet their learner’s unique needs.
AFP-SC Director of Public Affairs, Candace Carroll, said:
“In the coming years we hope we can join over a dozen states who have made school choice universal, but today’s win is still a victory for South Carolina families looking for the best pathway to an education that meets their unique needs. Our growing ESTF program will expand the pool of families who can apply for the fund and be in the driver seat of their education. We are eager for Governor McMaster to sign this into law and trust efforts looking to impede on the academic journey of thousands of students across our state will not succeed.”
