CONCORD, NH – Following the legislature passing HB 1 & 2, the two-year budget, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) State Director Greg Moore issued the following statement:

“The state legislature passed a transformative budget that sets the state up to become the economic beacon in the Northeast for years to come. Now was the time to reevaluate and right-size spending, rather than looking for more revenue to cover the cost of business as usual.

“This budget has several pro-growth policies, including eliminating the state’s income tax through ending the interest and dividend tax, to employer tax relief that will benefit small businesses, to empowering Granite State students and parents with access to an education that works for them through Education Freedom Accounts. We thank the legislature for seizing this opportunity to secure New Hampshire’s future and bringing increased opportunity for current and future generations of Granite Staters.”

Background:

AFP-NH has long advocated for employer tax relief and responsible spending. Employer tax relief and creating Education Freedom Accounts were priority issues in AFP-NH’s legislative agenda that was released at the outset of the session.
