Top-Down Government Mandates are Wrong Approach for New Hampshire
CONCORD, NH – Following today’s announcement by Governor Sununu that New Hampshire will not participate in the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI), Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) State Director Greg Moore issued the following statement:
“Creating a new gas tax of up to 17 cents per gallon would punish hardworking Granite Staters. This regressive tax would hurt low and fixed-income families, not only driving up the cost of gas, but on nearly every item on store shelves that they rely on. We thank Governor Sununu for standing up for Granite Staters and rejecting top-down government mandates. Instead of rigging our economy with harmful regulations and mandates, we should look to solutions that empower people.”
