ST. PAUL, MN – Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota (AFP-MN) today urged the Senate Tax Committee to pass SF1872, a bill that creates the Equity and Opportunity in Education Tax Credit, a tax credit scholarship program that expands educational opportunities for low and middle-income students in our state.
A quality education can happen in many different school models – including public or private schools, charter or homeschools, virtual schools, and ways yet to be imagined. AFP- MN is working to bring all sides together to find solutions that best meet the needs of our communities, teachers, students, and families.
AFP-MN sent committee members a letter urging them to support the bill.
“Every student should have access to a quality education, no matter where they live or how much money their parents make. This bill is a great first step and gives more students the opportunity to attend a school that best fits their educational needs and talents,” said Jason Flohrs, AFP-MN State Director. “We urge Senators to support this bill and remove barriers to unique and diverse approaches to education that benefit families, students, and teachers.”
