Arlington, VA – AFP President and CEO Emily Seidel issued the following statement on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

“We are horrified by the news of the shooting at Utah Valley University that left Charlie Kirk seriously injured. Our thoughts are with Charlie, his family, and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. We are praying for his full and speedy recovery. There is no place for violence in our public discourse.”

Update on News of Charlie Kirk’s Passing:

“We are incredibly saddened to learn that Charlie Kirk has succumbed to his injuries and passed away. This was a horrific act that has taken a life and shattered a family. Our hearts ache for all of those impacted by this senseless murder. Violence is never acceptable, and political violence is the antithesis of everything we stand for as Americans. This is a moment for prayer, and reflection on the principles that are supposed to unite us as Americans—free expression, civil disagreement, and mutual respect.”
