Manchester, NH – Americans for Prosperity Foundation – New Hampshire (AFPF-NH) is hosting a panel discussion on qualified immunity tomorrow at the Backyard Brewery in Manchester. Speakers from across the ideological spectrum will be speaking at the event, including the ACLU-NH, CATO Institute, state Representative Tony Lekas, and the Institute for Justice.
Qualified immunity is a judge made doctrine that shields the government from legal accountability in civil court even when they violate someone’s constitutional rights.

Americans for Prosperity Foundation’s sister organization, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire, has been at the forefront of advocating for qualified immunity reform. AFP-NH held a press conference earlier this year with Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s, supporting reforming the state’s qualified immunity laws and have written op-eds supporting increasing government accountability in the Granite State.
