MEDIA ADVISORY: AFP-UT & Education Opportunity for Every Child Host Back-to-School Backpack & School Supply Giveaway
On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) and Education Opportunity for Every Child will host a backpack giveaway at the Utah State Fairgrounds. To relieve the stress of the new school year, the grassroots organization and new parent advocacy group will provide backpacks and school supplies to ensure every student is set up for success this year. Information on educational options and resources will also be available on-site for students and families in the greater Salt Lake City area.

Why: To empower parents and learners to find an educational setting that best suits their individual needs. Every student is unique, which means that not every student succeeds in the same educational environment. A tailored approach to education welcomes innovation that enhances the educational experience and allows more students to learn and unlock their full potential.
Background: Other partners in this effort include the Mexican Consulate and Senator Luz Escamilla. Guided by their passion for education, this group of unlikely allies have teamed up to remove barriers to opportunity and ensure that at-risk students can thrive in an environment that serves their individualized needs.
