Dec 5, 2024 by AFP

ROCHESTER, IL – Americans for Prosperity-Illinois (AFP-Illinois) Deputy State Director Brian Costin spoke with WCIA News yesterday to discuss an ethics complaint with the Rochester Public Library Ethics Commission alleging that the District illegally used public resources to conduct a vote yes campaign for a massive 169% property tax hike. The complaint details 35 violations of state law.

In the piece, Costin states the Rochester Public Library District executed “the most egregious case of election interference that we’ve ever seen on the local level.” Costin continues by saying this is an example that “local governments can’t police themselves.”
