ICYMI: Americans for Prosperity & Education Opportunity for Every Child Hosted Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway on Saturday
SALT LAKE CITY – On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) and Education Opportunity for Every Child hosted a backpack and school supply giveaway at the Utah State Fairgrounds. The grassroots and parent advocacy group helped ensure that 1,000 students will be set up for success this year and raised awareness of the educational options and resources in the state.
AFP-Utah State Director Heather Andrews issued the following statement:
“Two hours before the event, lines were wrapping around the parking lot in anticipation of the giveaway. This reality highlights the significant need for Utahans to uplift this portion of the community to break down the barriers that stand in the way of proper education and ensure that every child is set up for success. We must continue to do all that we can so that every student has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.”
