Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania marked Tax Day with grassroots activity across Pennsylvania’s 7th, 8th, and 10th Districts.
Activists and grateful taxpayers joined AFP-PA to knock doors urging voters to thank Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07) and Rep. Rob Bresnahan (PA-08) for voting “yes” on the House Budget Resolution last week that will pave the way for Congress to renew President Trump’s signature Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Towards Harrisburg, activists joined AFP-PA in running a phone bank that urged taxpayers to thank Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10) for his consistent voting record on keeping taxes low so that the Keystone State can grow.
Earlier this morning, AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene joined Harrisburg radio legend RJ Harris on WHP 580 for a conversation about the financial realities facing Pennsylvania taxpayers if Congress fails to act.
She said:
“This impacts everyone. Congress needs to get to work today to extend Trump’s Tax Cuts, because look, they expire at the end of the year. And if they DO expire, as a whole that could be a $4 trillion tax hike on Americans . . . and after 4 years of BIdenomics, we can’t really afford that.”
“ . . . I know the House and Senate have taken swift action to pass a budget resolution that puts us in a good position to get this done this year, but Congress has got to act fast. Through our Protect Prosperity campaign we are thanking really great members of our Pennsylvania delegation, such as Congressman Rob Bresnahan up in the northeast, and in the Lehigh Valley, Congressman Ryan McKenzie, and of course, center of Pennsylvania’s own, Congressman Scott Perry. . . they took the tough votes but they’re working for us, the taxpayers.
