Columbus, OH – Over the past week, Americans for Prosperity – Ohio (AFP-OH) has held three tour stops across the state for their Rock N REINS: The Red Tape Roadshow Tour in Hamilton, Montgomery, and Knox counties. On this tour, AFP-OH is demonstrating the importance of the REINS Act – a bill to restore the balance of power between the legislative and executive branches, ensuring regulatory decisions get voted on by elected officials.
AFP-OH is midway through the Red Tape Roadshow tour, with more stops planned around the state to discuss H.B. 11 and the REINS Act – which will make the rulemaking process more transparent and will hold the government agencies accountable for their regulations.
In February, AFP-OH provided sponsor testimony to progress H.B. 11, which cuts red tape, enhances government transparency, and defends Ohioans from burdensome government regulations. H.B. 11 sponsor Rep. Brian Lorenz will join the Rock N REINS tour next week to discuss the impact this legislation will have on the Buckeye State.
AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil released the following statement:
“Ohioans deserve transparency at every level. Our ‘Rock N REINS: The Red Tape Roadshow’ tour has been a fantastic way to connect with folks, hearing how they’re stuck dealing with the consequences of costly, complex rules handed down by unelected bureaucrats, and to discuss solutions the REINS Act brings ensure regulatory policies work in the best interest of the people, rather than bureaucratic interests.
“AFP-OH is committed to working closely with lawmakers to advance the REINS Act and fast-track it into law. We are encouraged by the progress of H.B. 11, and we see its impending passage as a major step towards breaking down barriers to growth to restore balance in Columbus.”
