ICYMI: AFP Drives Message to Save President Trump’s Tax Cuts Across the Golden State

Apr 16, 2025 by AFP

Sacramento, CA—On Tuesday, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) hit the road across the Golden State to speak with California workers and business owners about the urgent need to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA).

AFP activists spoke with Californians in several communities and paraded through the congressional districts of Reps. Derek Tran (CA-45), Raul Ruiz (CA-25), Josh Harder (CA-09), and Jim Costa (CA-21) with mobile billboards calling on members of Congress to extend Trump’s tax cuts now.

If the TCJA expires, the average California family can expect to pay over $3,600 more in federal taxes—which is a nightmare for many hardworking Americans. Additionally, the expiration of these tax cuts could cost California over 100,000 jobs.

AFP Pacific Northwest Regional Director Heather Andrews released the following statement:

“The 2017 Trump tax cuts delivered meaningful relief to California families and businesses–helping hardworking citizens keep more of their money. If these tax cuts expire as they are set to at the end of the year, Californians, who are already struggling after years of Bidenomics, will be on the hook for major tax hikes.

“AFP is out all across the country this Tax Day calling on Reps. Costa, Harder, Ruiz, and Tran, and others to extend the Trump tax cuts and provide much-needed relief to their constituents. It’s time Congress steps up and gets the job done.”
