House Resolution Confronting DSA’s Agenda Will Begin To Show Where Lawmakers Really Stand

WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon the House is scheduled to take up H.Res. 1490, Rep. Jeff Crank’s (R-Colo.) resolution condemning socialism and the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) policy platform. AFP says the vote is an important first step in giving Americans a clear look at which representatives are willing to stand up to the DSA’s agenda and which are not.

Katelyn Bledsoe, Vice President of External Affairs for Americans for Prosperity, released the following statement:

“Rep. Crank’s resolution draws out where lawmakers really stand on the most extreme policies coming from the socialist left. It separates the ones who will go along with wherever the party’s base pulls them from the ones willing to stand up against an agenda built on government control.

“Democratic socialists are betting that government planners can run your life better than you can. AFP is betting on you. Their platform means government deciding your rent, your paycheck, and your healthcare instead of you. Ours means clearing the way so people can build something for themselves.

“Americans deserve to know whether their representative will cave to the DSA agenda or hold the line. This resolution is an important step to giving them their answer.”

The resolution comes as the DSA has grown to its largest membership in the organization’s history and its aligned candidates have posted wins in high-profile races throughout the country.
