Conference Committee Passes Pro-Growth Budget

Jun 17, 2021 by AFP

CONCORD, NH – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today praised the budget conference committee for finishing work on HB 1 & 2, the two-year state budget. The negotiations resulted in a budget full of pro-growth policies that will help strengthen the New Hampshire Advantage, including employer tax relief, phasing out the interest and dividends tax, property tax relief, and Education Freedom Accounts for Granite State students.

The budget now heads back to the Senate and House.

AFP-NH State Director Greg Moore released the following statement:

“This budget brings fiscal responsibility back to New Hampshire and builds on our state’s strengths of prioritizing low taxes, limited government, and greater opportunity. Doubling down on pro-growth policies that helped spur our current economic boon before the pandemic will cement our state as the economic envy of the Northeast for years to come. We commend the conference committee for coming together to agree on this budget and urge the House and Senate to pass this budget next Thursday, as it enables small businesses to recover stronger and hire new workers, gives students more access to a personalized education centered on their needs, and ensures our state’s finances are on a sustainable path going forward.”
