Americans for Prosperity Taps North Dakota Former Speaker as State Director

FARGO, ND – Americans for Prosperity today announced long-time North Dakota legislative veteran Kim Koppelman will join as State Director of Americans for Prosperity-North Dakota (AFP-ND).

New AFP-ND State Director Kim Koppelman released the following statement:

I’m excited about the opportunity to continue to advocate for North Dakotans, but in a new role. While it has made great strides, North Dakota’s AFP chapter is ready to take it to the next level. AFP-ND is strongly positioned to continue our great work and ensure that North Dakota is the very best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Koppelman brings extensive knowledge and a resume of legislative accomplishments and leadership experience to his new position, where he will oversee the operations of the AFP-ND state chapter. Previously, Koppelman spent 28 years in the North Dakota House of Representatives, retiring in December as Speaker of the House. He previously served in many leadership roles on the state and national level, including as the long-time chairman of the Judiciary Committee and as National Chairman of the Council of State Governments (CSG). He also chaired the Administrative Rules and Constitutional Revision Committees and served on the Executive Committees of the National Council of State Legislators and the Council of State Governments, as well as on CSG’s Governing Board and as the long-time chairman of its Shared State Legislation Committee. The American Legislative Exchange Council appointed him chairman of its Regulatory State Reform Sub Committee and its Civil Justice Task Force. He also brings 38 years of business experience and civic engagement to the new role.
