Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina Issues Statement on the Start of the 2nd Regular Session of the 125th SC General Assembly

COLUMBIA, SC – Today, following the start of the 2nd regular session of the 125th South Carolina General Assembly, Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina (AFP-SC) is urging legislators to continue building off the momentum of the first session by passing meaningful legislation that benefits everyone.

AFP-SC State Director Candace Carroll released the following statement:

“As we begin the second regular session of the General Assembly, we look forward to another successful year of achieving policy objectives that enable all South Carolinians to reignite their American dream and make the Palmetto State the best place in the country.

“Just like last session, AFP-SC will continue to play an integral role in the legislative process for advancing key education and health care related policies. We are excited to partner with our elected leaders to ensure these important initiatives are signed into law.”

Background

Throughout last year and the first session of the 125th South Carolina General Assembly, AFP-SC was a leader in passing S. 164, the State Health Facility Licensure Act that fully repealed Certificate of Need laws.

This year, during the second session, AFP-SC will focus on advancing education freedom including school choice.
