JACKSON, MS – Last week, Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi (AFP-MS) was in Washington D.C. for the organization’s annual Capitol Conference. While on Capitol Hill, AFP-MS met with 5 out of the 6 members of the state’s Congressional delegation to discuss health care and energy policy.

AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:

“We are thankful for the discussions we had with members and their staff to highlight the importance of passing legislation that puts patients first and gives Americans more control of their health care.

“AFP-MS also highlighted the urgent need to simplify the permitting process on domestic energy production. Burdensome regulations limit the market’s ability to deliver an abundant, reliable, and affordable supply of energy for all Americans. AFP-MS looks forward to being an active participant in these policy discussions.”

While on Capitol Hill, AFP-MS met with the following offices in the Mississippi delegation:

  • Senator Roger Wicker
  • Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith
  • Representative Trent Kelly (MS-01)
  • Representative Michael Guest (MS-03)
  • Representative Mike Ezell (MS-04)
