Minnesota Announces Jake Coleman as New State Director and Launches 2022 Legislative Agenda
ST. PAUL, MN – Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota (AFP-MN) today announced Jake Coleman as its next state director as well as the AFP-MN 2022 Legislative Agenda.
“Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota is committed to working with lawmakers and activists on all sides of the aisle to unleash the economic engine that drives our state, transform education and open up opportunities for all Minnesotans. I believe that by working with the people of Minnesota we can unite to address some of our state’s biggest challenges and push transformational policy solutions that will lead us into a future that makes Minnesota stronger than ever before” Coleman said.
Prior to joining Americans for Prosperity, Coleman worked with Hays Companies, as well as serving as a Firefighter with the Chanhassen Fire Department. He previously ran for Minnesota State Senate, and has been deeply involved in Minnesota politics working on appropriations, budget, education, energy, financial services, health care, housing, insurance, small business, taxes and telecommunications.
In conjunction with the announcement of Jake Coleman as the new State Director, AFP-MN released its 2022 Legislative Agenda today, headlined by key priorities to stand up for taxpayers across the state. Those priorities include:
- Providing tax relief to Minnesotans – Replenish the unemployment fund, provide direct repayments to taxpayers, and provide permanent tax cuts for Minnesota families.
- Create more opportunity, not red tape – Eliminate red tape by removing unnecessary barriers and rein in wasteful spending by instituting mechanisms that require citizen input.
- Lead on smart public safety reform – protect personal property rights throughout the criminal justice process and provide greater opportunity for second chances.
- Empower Minnesota students – Expand open enrollment, provide more opportunity through PSEO programs, and improve education transparency to empower parents.
