Bevin Alum brings decades of public service experience to grassroots activist group

FRANKFORT, KY – Americans for Prosperity today announced the hire of Andrew V. McNeill as the new State Director for its Kentucky Chapter.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to work for an organization dedicated to advancing economic freedom and improving the lives of all Kentuckians,” AFP-KY State Director Andrew V. McNeill said. “I am looking forward to leading a great AFP Kentucky staff dedicated to  making our home the best place to work, live, and raise a family. We have a great opportunity ahead of us to expand on our great grassroots capabilities as we fight to build a more open and free society.”

Andrew joins AFP-KY with a wealth of leadership and public policy experience from serving in the administrations of Governors Ernie Fletcher and Matt Bevin. Andrew joined the Bevin Administration as Senior Advisor to the Governor before being appointed as Deputy State Budget and Policy Director. In that role, Andrew was instrumental in supporting Governor Bevin’s effort to put Kentucky’s financial house in order by proposing and signing the most fiscally responsible state budgets in a generation.

As Deputy State Budget Director, Andrew continued to serve on the Governor’s Office senior staff that in 2017 lead the efforts in a historical session of the General Assembly, enacting pro-freedom policies like right-to-work, paycheck protection, the authorization of charter schools and the repeal of the prevailing wage.

A Kentucky native, Andrew received a Master’s in Public Administration from the Martin School of Public Policy at the University of Kentucky and earned his undergraduate degrees in History and Government from Centre College. His volunteer efforts focus on supporting refugee assimilation into American society through the work of Kentucky Refugee Ministries.
