TOPEKA, Kan. – Americans for Prosperity-Kansas issued the following statement upon learning of Governor Laura Kelly’s decision to veto SB 50. The bill would have allowed for taxpayers to stop an unintended increase in individual state returns finally.
AFP-KS State Director Elizabeth Patton issued the following statement:
“Governor Kelly’s decision to veto this bill demonstrates a blatant disregard of the current circumstances of families across the state that are attempting to recover financial losses from the pandemic. This is a tax increase that she is keeping on the books. Kansans want and deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money rather than the state keeping this windfall of cash. We encourage taxpayers across the state to contact your lawmakers to urge them to override Governor Kelly’s veto.”
