WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Americans for Prosperity – Wyoming (AFP-WY) awarded all three members of its congressional delegation with “Pioneers for Prosperity” awards. U.S. Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) and Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), and U.S. Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (WY At-Large) earned this distinction for their representation of The Equality State during the 118th Congress.
AFP-WY met with these members in Washington this week to discuss tax policies, including the of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which could trigger a “fiscal cliff” in 2025 if Congress doesn’t renew it. They also discussed new AFP polling released this week that found 90 percent of Americans oppose new tax hikes and want to keep their current rates.
These leaders are on the frontlines in Congress advancing principles and policies that advance the conservative movement, while proactively opposing harmful ideas that grow the size of government and take money out of taxpayers’ paychecks. The “Pioneers for Prosperity” stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with our grassroots communities in their home states.
Lawmakers earned recognition for supporting bills such as the Employee Rights Act, Strategic Production Response Act, Lower Energy Costs Act, Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other pivotal pieces of legislation that offer common-sense solutions that would improve Americans’ lives.

Upon receiving the award, Sen. Lummis gave the following statement:
“I am honored to receive the Pioneers for Prosperity award from Americans for Prosperity – Wyoming. The people of Wyoming work hard for every dollar they earn, and it is shameful for the government to spend their tax dollars on wasteful spending. In the Senate I am working each day to represent the people of Wyoming’s values and fighting for fiscal sanity.”
AFP-WY State Director, Tyler Lindholm, gave the following statement:
“We’re deeply grateful for our partnerships with Barrasso, Lummis, and Hageman over the years, as we work to make Wyoming into the best place to live out the American Dream. These awards recognize their past work toward strengthening the economy and continued leadership in Congress to help America avert the fiscal cliff next year.”
