WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Americans for Prosperity – Utah awarded U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and U.S. Representatives Blake Moore (UT-01) and Burgess Owens (UT-04) with “Pioneers for Prosperity” awards.
These distinguished lawmakers were policy champions during the 118th Congress, who fought against the top-down economic policies of the Biden-Harris administration that have sent inflation soaring and made everyday life more difficult for Utahns.
The “Pioneers for Prosperity” stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with our grassroots communities in their home states.
Lawmakers earned recognition for supporting bills such as the Employee Rights Act, Strategic Production Response Act, Lower Energy Costs Act, Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other pivotal pieces of legislation that offer common-sense solutions that would improve Americans’ lives.

Upon receiving the award, Rep. Moore gave the following statement:
“I am honored to be recognized as a 2024 Pioneer for Prosperity, and I thank AFP for this award. I’m grateful to AFP for their partnership in our efforts to reform Washington’s broken budgeting process and look forward to continuing to make our government work better for the American people.”
AFP-UT State Director, Kevin Greene, released the following statement:
“Utah is fortunate to have such principled leaders in Washington to fight for individual liberty. Senator Lee, Rep. Moore and Rep. Owens have distinguished themselves for holding the Biden-Harris administration accountable for its irresponsible leadership and poor handling of the economy, and we’re proud to honor them with these ‘Pioneers for Prosperity’ awards.”
