WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Americans for Prosperity – Minnesota (AFP-MN) awarded U.S. Congressman and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-06) with a “Pioneers for Prosperity” Award in recognition of his principled leadership in the House of Representatives and service to the North Star State during the 118th Congress.
In his roles as House Majority Whip and a member on the Financial Services Committee, Emmer has been a steadfast advocate for reducing federal spending and tax cuts, including the landmark Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that has saved Minnesotans from thousands of dollars in federal taxes.
The “Pioneers for Prosperity” stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with our grassroots communities in their home states.
Lawmakers earned recognition for supporting bills such as the Employee Rights Act, Strategic Production Response Act, Lower Energy Costs Act, Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other pivotal pieces of legislation that offer common-sense solutions that would improve Americans’ lives.
AFP-MN State Director Jake Coleman released the following statement:
“Minnesota is lucky to have a leader like Representative Emmer as a leader in Congress, and AFP-MN is proud to present him with this ‘Pioneers for Prosperity’ award. Rep. Emmer has fought tooth and nail against the reckless, inflation-inducing policies of the Biden-Harris administration that have deepened the cost-of-living crisis in our state, and AFP-MN is excited to continue fighting alongside him on behalf of Minnesota taxpayers.”
