WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Americans for Prosperity-California (AFP-CA) awarded three members of Congress with “Pioneers for Prosperity” awards.
The award honors distinguished lawmakers who were policy champions during the 118th Congress. These leaders are on the frontlines in Congress advancing principles and policies that advance the conservative movement, while proactively opposing harmful ideas that grow the size of government and take money out of taxpayers’ paychecks. The “Pioneers for Prosperity” stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with our grassroots communities in their home states.
Lawmakers earned recognition for supporting bills such as the Employee Rights Act, Strategic Production Response Act, Lower Energy Costs Act, Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other pivotal pieces of legislation that offer common-sense solutions that would improve Americans’ lives.
U.S. Representatives Kevin Kiley (CA-03), Young Kim (CA-40), and Michelle Steel (CA-45) earned this distinction for their representation of the Golden State.
AFP Pacific Northwest Region Heather Andrews released the following statement:
“We are proud to recognize Representatives Kiley, Kim, and Steel for championing policies that empower Californians, rather than hold them back. In a time where our nation faces numerous challenges, Californians can rely on these leaders to stand firm in their principles, defend conservative values, and promote prosperity for the people of the Golden State. These leaders have worked tirelessly to advance policies that lower taxes, expand opportunity, and put freedom in the hands of Californians so that every individual has the opportunity to live out their version of the American Dream.”
