Americans for Prosperity Hails Passage of Bill to Give Those Starting Over “A Fair Shot at Success”
COLUMBIA, SC — Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina (AFP-SC) today thanked the Legislature and Governor McMaster for passing and signing a new law prohibiting the state from denying an occupational license based solely or in part on a prior criminal conviction.
AFP-SC State Director Candace Carroll released the following statement:
“I am glad to see the end of burdensome occupational licensing requirements for those who have successfully exited the criminal justice system. The next step to become full, productive members of society is to get a job and support themselves. I thank the House and the Senate and Governor McMaster for their work to give those looking to start over a fair shot at success.”
