ATLANTA, GA—Americans for Prosperity-Georgia (AFP-GA) applauded Governor Brian Kemp for signing SB 321 into law. SB 321 expanded the scope of practice and supervision ratio for Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. This will make strides to ensure Georgians have greater access to quality health care.
AFP-GA State Director Stephen Allison issued the following statement:
“We are pleased to see Governor Kemp sign SB 321 into law. This measure expands access to quality health care in a timely fashion for Georgians by ensuring nurse practitioners and physician assistants are able to provide services they were trained to do. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that our lawmakers take steps to ensure more Georgians can receive the care they need, when they need it, at a price they can afford. Yesterday’s bill signing is a great step toward a path in that direction.”
Background:
In March, AFP-GA thanked Gov. Kemp for his leadership responding to the COVID-19 crisis that included temporarily lifting licensing barriers to allow more health care providers to see patients.
