Americans for Prosperity Applauds Passage of Groundbreaking Occupational Licensing Reform
DES MOINES, Iowa — Americans for Prosperity-Iowa celebrated the passage of groundbreaking occupational licensing legislation. The bipartisan bill includes a first-of-its-kind provision that recognizes an individual’s work experience outside Iowa, easing the path for many to find fulfilling work in the Hawkeye state.
“After years of education and advocacy, we’re excited to see the Iowa legislature take a historic step forward in reducing barriers to work. Easing the path for formerly incarcerated individuals to find fulfilling work, as well as recognizing unlicensed work experience and credentials from beyond Iowa will open doors to opportunity for many.
