BATON ROUGE, La. – Americans for Prosperity-Louisiana (AFP-LA) today praised legislators for taking the first steps to fix Louisiana’s broken tax code. Bills within this package include HB 278, HB 292, SB 159, and SB 161. The grassroots group has long advocated for reforms that remove barriers for taxpayers and simplify the tax code to ensure that hardworking Americans will reap the total rewards of their successes.
AFP-LA State Director James Lee issued the following statement:
“Simplifying the tax code and lowering rates for individuals and corporations across the state is without a doubt a step in the right direction. This move will make Louisiana more competitive and spur economic growth, helping every Louisianan as we begin our recovery. We look forward to building on this progress in upcoming years. Thank you to Chairmen Allain and Bishop and Rep. Riser for your leadership on this issue and for your efforts to put Louisiana on the path to economic recovery.”
